The Cincinnati Art Museum offers a small number of family oriented classes and workshops. The workshops are hands on, though are more about learning the artists techniques and discovering a new way of doing something. They also offer weekly studio classes to people at least 6 years of age, though anyone who wants to participate and is under the age of twelve needs to be accompanied by an adult who is also enrolled in the class.
There are regular sketching tours for older participants, where the materials are provided and a museum docent will escort the artists around the collection. Though, very specially there is a Baby Tour which aims to help expose new colors and exciting things to children from 0 – 2 years old.
Designed for kid ages 6 – 12, the Cincinnati Art Museum runs Summer Camps which feature many artistic days – keeping kids entertained with dress ups, clay, and painting as well as many other fun activities. They also offer convenient before and after care for busy parents.
The Rosenthal Education Center is the hub for all the art making activities that go on at the Cincinnati art Museum. An interactive space for creative growth with families and kids, there is almost always something on at the Rosenthal Education Center.
