Here’s how to draw a unicorn face in just six steps.
Step #1: Draw The Cheeks And Nose
Begin your line at the unicorn’s temple. Create a curve for the cheek, then bring your line down and in to create the side of the nose. Draw the bottom of the nose, then bring your line back up the opposite side.
Step 2: Draw The Unicorn Bangs
This unicorn has a bang over its forehead. Begin a line where the top of the head would be and then draw a curve to about the bottom of the cheek, creating a point at the bottom. Bring your line back up with a curve that ends a little above the left eye.
Step 3: Draw The Unicorn Horn
The horn comes next. Either draw a cone at the top of the head and fill it with diagonal lines or draw the segments of the horn individually (we’ve used little leaf-like shapes for the segments here). The horn will look better drawn in separate segments, but this will take more skill to do.
Step 4: Draw The Ears
Draw outlines for the two ears. By drawing the left ear larger than the right, the unicorn’s face will appear to be at a slight angle, giving it a more natural look.
Step 5: Draw The Hair Bow
The bow is optional but adds interest to the drawing. The center point begins beneath the unicorn’s left ear.
Step 6: Draw The Details
Add details to the ears and hair and draw eyelashes and nostrils on the face.
How To Draw A Unicorn Face: Coloring And Highlights (If You Want)
If you want to color the drawing, fill the face and ears with flesh tones and the fill the bow, hair, and horn with any color you’d like. In the example drawing at the top of the page, we use highlights that mimic light shining on the side of the face. You can try this yourself by leaving small areas uncolored or by adding layers of color in lighter shades.
